The Orchard Social Infrastructure Trust was launched in July 2007. The Trust invests in property assets which assist in the provision of community services such as private hospitals, medical centres, day care centres and kindergartens.


The Trust invests primarily in property funds established and managed by Orchard such as the Orchard Essential HealthCare Trust. As at 31 March 2010, the Orchard Social Infrastructure Trust’s total asset value was $8.7 million, which was wholly invested in Orchard’s Essential HealthCare Trust.


The portfolio of properties currently held within the Orchard Essential HealthCare Trust are located in various catchment areas throughout QLD, NSW, Vic and Tas.

Orchard’s Essential HealthCare Trust

The Essential HealthCare Trust was launched in 2002 for the purpose of acquiring private hospitals as well as medical and consulting suites. Major tenants of the Trust are ASX listed company Healthscope (37% of Trust rental income) and Healthe Care Australia (60% of Trust rental income).

In the event that the Trust is reopened for further applications and other suitable assets are found, the Trust may invest outside of Orchard's Essential HealthCare Trust.
